School holidays are here!!

Yes, whanau, it's the end of the term and the school holidays are here.  It has been a very long term with 11 weeks of hard work. Room 13 has worked very hard this term. They have set very high standards for Term 2 and I look forward to another productive and busy term.

Today we had a shared lunch / morning tea with Room1 and Whaea Ana. Thank you whanau for sending in your goodies. We enjoyed a variety of activities including arts & crafts, movie, reading corner, sports, food, food and more food.

Enjoy your holidays, keep safe and we will see you all next term!!

Fiafia Night

Last night was our very popular Fiafia Night. Once again we had a fabulous turn out by all whanau to support a night where CPS showcase our many cultures and talent.

Room 13, Room 14 and Room 1 combined together to perform our world famous CPS song and a waiata action song.

I hope you were able to join us and support us in a very enjoyable evening of dance, song and food.

  • Yesterday we went to school. At school there was a Fiafia Night and lots of balloons. Our families came and our cousins came too. They had a performance. The first was Room 1, 14 and 13. We did a CPS song. I was wearing a nice dress. I felt happy.        - Angel

  • Last night at Fiafia Night I thought wearing a long skirt would make me nervous but it didn't. No one laughed but I did. I tried to look at my family when I already knew I couldn't see my family at all. Even though my family didn't give me at least $1, I was still proud of myself that I was there and that my family was there.    - Mylene

R13's Broadway Performance

Room 13 gave a performance of Chicken Licken at junior school assembly. We had the wonderful support of parents who came to support their child's acting debut.

I will upload the video of our performance very, very soon.

Scrumptious learning

Last Friday, Room 13 had a scrumptious lesson on scone making.  We shared our baking with the teachers.  Our scones had strawberry jam and cream on them. We learnt to:

  • Measurement - measuring our ingredients using cups, spoons and teaspoons
  • Hygiene - cleaning our hands, utensils, and what happens if we need to sneeze or cough when cooking
  • Temperature - what temperature does the oven need to be
  • Food Technology - does our scone taste better on its own, with jam, with cream or both?
Enjoy our wonderful photos:

Feedback from teachers:

Awesome, thanks heaps for the scone. I love it. - Miss Magaoa, R7

  • One day we made scones and it tasted like strawberries and honey. The cream and the jam tasted like strawberries and lemon.  We needed ingredients: flour and water and a spoon and a cup. We gave some to the junior teachers. We ate it too and we went home and slept.    - Kilifi
